I'm Charles Coleman Jr. filling in for my friend and colleague, Ali Velshi. Now, in just two days,

the country is going to witness something that literally never

happened before.

The first criminal trial of a former president of the United States of America.

This coming Monday marks the beginning of Donald Trump's hush money trial in New York.

It's the first of the former president's four criminal cases to proceed to trial, and it may

also be

the only one that goes to court before election day.

The man who is widely expected to be the star witness in the trial, former Trump lawyer

and fixer, Michael Cohen, sat down exclusively with the morning cast of my colleagues

from the weekend.

And he had this to say about how we should be

thinking about the case. The prosecutors are going to put forth their case. And as Alicia was

saying at the beginning, I'm just the narrator. And rest assured, Alvin Breg and the prosecutorial team

over at the district Attorney of New York's

office would not have brought this case unless they thought that they were going to be successful.

So far, Trump and his legal team have been pretty successful in their delay tactics in his other

cases. There's no trial date set yet in Fulton County, Georgia, and the classified documents case in Florida

is likely going to be pushed back.

Meanwhile, the federal election interference case in D.C. is indefinitely on pause until the

Supreme Court weighs in on the question of presidential immunity.
