So I have a couple of important mentor sessions for you here today and tomorrow.

I want to help you get a promotion if you're interested. And this is relevant whether you are today and tomorrow. I want to help you get a promotion if you're interested.

And this is relevant whether you are employed and work for a company or you are self-employed,

which means that you work for clients. To state it is simply as possible up front here. It is all

down to two things. Help those that you work for make more money and or to make life easier. Period. That's it.

Let's break these two down one at a time. Today let's focus on how to help those that you work for

make more money. I remember how my mentor Jim Rhone explained it to me. He said, Darren, we get paid for one thing.

Value.

Not time.

Value.

You get paid for bringing value to the marketplace, period.

Now, he said, it takes time to bring value to the marketplace.

But you don't get paid for the time.

That's where people get this messed up. Jim would say,

mistakenly, the man says, I'm making about $40 an hour. Not true. Not true. If that was true,

you could just stay home and have them send you your money. So no, it's not true. You don't get paid

for the hour. You get paid for the value you

deliver each hour. It is what you contribute, the results that you produce, the monetary value

that you deliver. That is what you get paid for. The value you deliver, not the time that you put in.
