where we're waiting on a crucial decision from the nation's central bank due in just a few hours.

Normally, the average person doesn't closely track changes in interest rates, but the economic

situation here isn't average.

I think it is fair to portray this situation as what we call as a prisoner's dilemma.

Both the central bank governance and the Ministry of Finance and also President Erdogan is trapped into past stance favoring lower interest rates.

The official inflation rate in this country is above 21% and the value of the lira currency

has plunged by nearly half this year. If interest rates are cut today for the fourth month in a row,

living conditions which have become unaffordable for many, could get worse.

I cannot pay my rent properly. I rent my room to foreigners. Staying at home with someone I don't know, it's really scary.

What's it like to live in a state of such economic uncertainty,

where the value of the cash in your pocket changes drastically by the day,

sometimes by the hour?
