| 0:00.0 | Hey, this is Buck Sexton and you're listening to the Tudor Dixon podcast part of the Clay Travers and Buck Sexton podcast not what? |
| 0:09.1 | Welcome to the Tudor Dixon podcast. I'm Tudor Dixon and I'm so glad you're with me today because today I have one of my dear friends with me and I'm really excited to chat with him. |
| 0:18.9 | The founder of the walk away campaign Brandon Strock. Brandon, we've known each other for about I think it's like five years now that we've known each other and you are one of |
| 0:28.9 | my favorite people because no matter how long it is between us talking, it's just like we pick up right where we left off. You're one of those friends and I love that about you. |
| 0:36.7 | Thank you. Yeah, we clicked right away. Um, you and I met in October, um, well, maybe just before October September ish of 2018. |
| 0:45.5 | You were working on a movie which I ended up having like a teeny tiny part in and I think we went out to lunch and we just clicked and yeah, we've been friends ever since. |
| 0:53.3 | So I don't think I've ever told you this, but I watched your video. Actually, my mom sent me your video I once was a liberal. |
| 1:00.9 | And so for people who are listening, so Brandon is the guy who had it was like this kind of sexy looking video where he was like, I once was a liberal. |
| 1:10.3 | And then we all were blown away, right? And my mom sent this to me and she's like, oh my gosh, this guy is so cute. You've got to watch this video. |
| 1:17.1 | And then when when we were having you come out to Grand Rapids, I'm like, I'm so intimidated because this guy is like, you know, really cute and very famous and you were totally normal. |
| 1:28.0 | So I mean, you know, yeah, he actually is a big loser is what you're saying. Watch your fat. Why do you want to meet me? No, no, you were, you were there. |
| 1:37.6 | I was actually surprised and I thought you were much younger than me, but I think we're like the same age. So that made me happy too. |
| 1:43.7 | Yeah. No, I mean, I definitely don't take myself super seriously and I never have. And I have a background actually some people don't know. |
| 1:54.4 | I did a lot of acting. I did acting and then I became a hairstylist and then I started the walkway campaign. It's been a weird journey. |
| 2:01.3 | But I always like to bring a lot of sort of the I like to do things for the conservative movement in a way that I feel like they a lot of people are not doing that, you know, like kind of a fresh perspective. |
| 2:11.8 | And so what I wanted to do is bring a little bit of theatricality to the presentation of like my videos and my message and things like that. |
| 2:19.3 | So when I made that first video, I wanted it. I mean, I didn't have a budget. First of all, I didn't have any money. But even if I did, I kind of wanted it to just be clean and simple and a little bit traumatic. |
| 2:31.0 | And so I just put on a black t-shirt and a black background and shine the light in my face and talked about all the reasons why I was walking away from the democratic party. |
| 2:39.1 | And it was, I mean, it was kind of a dramatic intense video, but I think ultimately it achieved its purpose because I think a lot of people, it resonated with a lot of people. |
| 2:50.6 | It's still resonating. I think that's the best part about it. You just recently launched walk away social. And I think sometimes when people hear, oh, there's a new social platform, they just think, oh, I can't add another one. |
| 3:02.5 | But this is really unique. And so I want people to really check this out and see what it is because I think that when I think of social media, I think of a place that is kind of dark now. |
| 3:13.5 | And it's this like, you know, my life is better than yours or you're wrong. And it's just a place where people argue or brag. But walk away is totally different. |
