someone who is on the forefront of increasingly growing parents rights

and education freedom movement and that is Corey de Angeles he is a self-described

school choice evangelist and the author of the new book Mediocracy 40 ways

government schools are failing today's students.

Corey I mean there's way more than 40 I know that but that's probably what you could

get to in the book I just think that right now is a very interesting time so I'm glad you're

joining us today to talk about it. Yeah thank you so much yeah we really had to

whittle it down to 40 because it came out on the 40th anniversary of the Nation and Risk report talking about a rising

tide of mediocrity in the government school system back in 1983 and we're still seeing

a lot of the same problems and even more of the problems

when it comes to the curriculum misalignment with the leftist indoctrination in the

classroom. So things haven't gotten any better, in some ways have gotten worse and we're spending more and more money than ever.

Well obviously we came out of the pandemic.

The pandemic was devastating to our kids but really the question that people have now

is was it necessary to have kids out of school as long as they were out of school

you have a lot of

interesting conversations going back between the

teachers union president Randy Weingarten and the media who and even

on Twitter when she's saying I wanted kids to go back to school she was the
