His name is Andrea Bertha and he is very interesting.

Arsenal have announced Andrea Bertha as their new sporting director. He succeeds Edou, who left last November.

What I know of Andrea Bertha, he's got the best CV of anyone out there to replace Edou and take Arsenal through into the summer window and beyond.

His appointment at Arsenal, I think, stands out as a little bit of a marker, actually.

I think it's a bit of a statement type of appointment from the club.

And it's encouraging that somebody of Berta's caliber is looking at Arsenal as his next step.

Arsenal fans don't want to just be competing now.

They want to be winning trophies.

And it will be the role of Andrea Berta to oversee all of that.
