James Warner Wallace was a detective in California for decades, but in 1996, something happened

in his life, and he became a Christian after he approached reading the Bible,

reading the Gospels from an investigative standpoint, whether or not to see whether or not he could

prove that the Bible is real and that the claims about Jesus are real.

So really interesting guy, really, really good books. If you're interested in

Christian apologetics, I would highly recommend it. I get this episode may not be for everybody,

and that's okay. If you don't want to listen, you can just skip this one and move on to the next one.

You've written more books than I've read.

You have a very fascinating and very interesting career as a Christian apologist, an author, and in a past life, a detective.

And I'll let you say what you want to about your credentials because they're amazing.

Well, no, I just want somebody like a lot of people who don't necessarily aren't necessarily raised in a Christian environment.

I was raised in a place where I didn't really know any Christians growing up. So here in Los Angeles County,

my dad was a detective. I didn't know if I was going to do that kind of work, but ultimately,

it's the kind of job that eventually pulls your kids in. It feels like my son now has been a

detective for about 10 years, been on the job
