This week on this very special Thanksgiving holiday, we're going to talk about two things.

Number one, what really went down on Thanksgiving all those years ago, and number two, gratitude.

Growing up in a public school, I like many people was taught that Thanksgiving is a beautiful

holiday where the Native Americans and the pilgrims shared a delicious meal around

a cornucopia and eight in perfect harmony in 1621.

We then proceeded to make crafts that fit this narrative like cutting out our own Native

American feather headbands from construction paper while other kids cut out buckles for

their shoes to look like pilgrims.

When we learn things like that in school, we don't question it, but as we grow older,

we have the ability to second guess what we are taught, and we quickly find out that

the pictures that were painted for us weren't always so honest.

I was sitting in a car with my sister the other day, she's a teacher, and she basically

read-pilled me about what Thanksgiving was really all about.

She told me that it was pretty much a massacre.

The story about the pilgrims stepping off the Mayflower and enjoying a feast with the

Wampanoag is a misconstrued myth.
