If you know anything about me, you know that I'm extremely passionate about media, social media, cell phone use in children.

It is one thing that I won't cave on.

But now that my kid is going into first grade, he's seven. He's already starting to ask for a cell phone.

I don't think he understands what that even means. He sees everyone around him on a phone,

including his parents, which that's a whole other can of worms we can get into. But I think

that the cell phone use in children, and this goes without trying to shame

anyone, I think that cell phone use and children is just absolutely unreal, the fact that we are

just handing children cell phones at such young ages. And actually, I was talking to someone about this,

and they said, like, cell phones and social media and just the internet in general is the new scary thing for kids.

It used to be like, don't go out after dark or don't talk to strangers.

Like now strangers are much more safe than people on the internet.
