Summary

Lots of women are afraid of perimenopause and menopause, but they shouldn’t have to be. Tamsen Fadal is paving the way for a better future for women starting menopause by debunking fears and fighting for visibility. Author, journalist, and documentary producer Tamsen Fadal made menopause education her life’s mission after going through it herself with little to no guidance. There are lots of myths and stigmas surrounding menopause and its treatment. For example, many women do not get hormone therapy that could change their lives because they are concerned about breast cancer risks. However, some of the risk around this is overstated. Tamsen believes that women should have choices in how they handle their menopause, and doctors need to be more educated to allow for those choices. 4:49 Myths About Hormone Replacement Therapy 13:06 When Does Perimenopause Begin? 14:58 Finding The Right Doctor 17:01 What To Ask Your Doctors 22:01 Workplace Accommodations 32:18 Low Libido 36:53 Why Women Need Testosterone 43:06 Symptom-Hormone Connection 47:05 Stress Management 53:35 Menopause Brain Fog For more from Tamsen, you can find her on Instagram @tamsenfadal or online at www.tamsenfadal.com.
