we're just serial lash people yeah i know but know. But that's our thing. Yeah.

All right, jumping into the episode, I figured we'd cut some of this stuff a little short today that we'd get right into the meat and potatoes of this thing for you. I'm sure you guys are at home or sitting there or if you're working right now in lashing going, thank God. All right, so today's episode. So many of you out there you actually have taken a lash class before and...

Or maybe you haven't.

Or maybe you haven't. But for those of you that have taken one, you're probably sitting there thinking, you know, we've heard some horror stories, right? Like my wife is a prime example. Tell me about your first lash class you took. Well, I mean, granted, this was back in 2012, but the people that I got got trained by I believe that they're still in business

yeah so I just took it was like a six hour course it was in someone's house in Utah and um I didn't even

know how to hold my tweezers like I learned nothing they even had us bring in models and it was just

it was petrifying it was just it was not a good experience so

I think when we started when we felt we were ready where we had enough education experience

in our belt when we felt ready to take that I think a lot of what was in our lash class and still

is is based off that nightmare yeah yeah the thing is too, I remember your very first set of lashes you did when we had a model at the house. How long did it take you to do it? It took two days. Thank God it was my girlfriend. It was literally like she was on my bed, but I think I got like nine lashes on each eye. So pretty bad. So that's one of those things you hear about. And there's a lot of people have complained about that too. And here's the thing. It's almost impossible to learn lashing in a day, right? It's one thing just to try and learn classic lashes, plus learn theory, plus learn sterilization, plus learn every little thing about lashing, you know how to isolate, place it, all in one day.

Then you've got so many other things, right? You learn photo editing, you learn marketing, you know how to do hybrid, you learn to volume, learn how to pinch, you learn how to pull off the strip and make a fan. You learn all these little different things. Now people are throwing UV at you, and you just learn how to lash with a regular three-second glue. second glue, wait, there's a second and a half second glue.

There's a UV, you know, there's all these different techniques and things to learn. And the problem is that most beauty schools don't teach us, right? So you've got to go to school in most states to get your esthetician or cosmetology license, but they don't really teach lashing properly in there. They teach plenty of waxing and they teach plenty of doing hair and everything else,

but they don't focus on lashes. But the state board, because it's a big bureaucracy, they've never been able to actually get together and decide how to classify lashing. So they're just like, get your aesthetician license. Okay, cool, but we're not going to teach out of lash. Or you have to pay for it.

Yeah, or you got to pay for a separate class.

So the whole thing's screwy.

Trust me, Sean and I have been down there and fought with it many times at the state board.
