We've got legislation that frankly is designed for face-to-face interaction. You know, you're not allowed to go up and threaten someone. You're not allowed to go up to someone to their face and make those kinds of threats. Now, the internet's very different. You know, people make threats on the internet all the time and there's no chance of that threat ever being realised. So it doesn't really need to be dealt with in the same actionable way as if you come face to face with someone.

But the law doesn't reflect that.

So you can say really stupid stuff online

that you would never say to someone's face.

And yet it has the same legal kind of ramifications

as if you had done it face to face.

And that really does need updating and changing.

And I think it's a feature that we just haven't caught up

with the internet era.
