Hey guys, welcome back to Thicken Thin with me, Katie Bollady, and do I have a story for

you guys today?

I'm so excited to be here talking about the life and legacy of Selma Burke, and many of you

out there probably have never heard her name, and yet you carry around a piece of her legacy

in your purse every day.

We're going to get into exactly what I mean by that in a little bit, but I'm so pleased

to announce that I worked with a fellow podcaster and history lover on this episode, myself

and Kayla Stokes, a bias-bender podcast collaborated on this episode.

She loves history and Google Docs just as much as I do, so I'm so excited to work with

her.

And to kick off the episode, I actually was able to interview Kayla about her podcast,

bias-bender, along with where she gets her inspiration for the stories that she tells,

and the importance of black history and people like Selma Burke, who were left out of history

textbooks, who for so many years were undercredited for the strides they made because of their

skin color.

We need to shed light on these stories in order to get closer to the truth, and so Kayla

and I chat about this before the story and after the story in this episode, so definitely

stay tuned until the very end.
