Welcome to our Tuesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today I'm continuing to teach about the true nature of God.

Just fundamental, foundational things that sad to say most Christians don't know and because of it they are susceptible to Satan's lies about God.

Just like Satan deceived Eve because he misrepresented the nature of God and said the reason God doesn't want you to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is because he doesn't love God.

He doesn't love you. He's trying to keep you from being like him. That was an absolute lie about God that if she would have really understood who he was, she would have never fallen for that.

Likewise, if we really understood who God truly is, we wouldn't fall for a lot of the lies and the deception that are being put forth about God.

So I've got a book on this entitled The True Nature of God and this is my second week of teaching on these things and I tell you, if you understand this, this will lay a foundation for your relationship with God that is just essential.

And one of the points that I've made towards the end of last week's teaching was that some of the misrepresentations about God and who he is, what his nature is like, has come from Scripture.

Not because Scripture is wrong, but because it's been misinterpreted. People have thought that the reason God gave the Old Testament law is to show us exactly what we must do to be right with God.

And in a sense that's correct because it's showing us the perfect standard that God demands.

But since none of us could keep it perfectly, it says in James chapter 2, verse 10, that if you keep the whole law and yet a thing in one point, you become guilty of all.

So since nobody can keep the law perfectly instead of the law providing us a way to God, it actually condemns us and shows us that there is zero chance of you ever earning relationship with God.

So it was the purpose of the law and it's been misinterpreted. And religion primarily has made this performance-based mentality that if you want to receive from God what you've got to do is be holy.

If you have any sin in your life, God won't answer your prayers and things like this. And that is incorrect.

Now I'm not advocating sin because we aren't only dealing with God. We've also got an adversary, the devil, who as a roaring lion goes about seeking whom he may devour, 1st Peter chapter 5.

And so it's not just a matter of what's God going to do. We have this enemy and if you yield the sin, you allow that enemy Satan to come in and devour you and stop you from receiving from God.

So because of that, I still don't advocate sin. But you aren't going to live a perfect life and you aren't going to fall short. If not in your actual actions, then you will fall short in your thought life are things that you were supposed to act on that you failed to do.

None of us are ever going to have this perfect life to where we do everything perfectly. There was only one perfect person that was Jesus and you are not going to be the second one.

And so I don't advocate sin, but God loves the sinner and God uses people who have sin in their life.
