Welcome to our Friday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today is the end of my first week of teaching through a series that I've entitled The True Nature of God.

I tell you, if you're going to have a relationship with God and if you're going to learn how to receive from Him, you've got to know who He is.

This is a hindrance to us receiving if we are not aware of exactly who God is.

He's aligned constantly. Satan is accusing Him and things.

And this is what this whole series is about. I've got a book on this in English and in Spanish and then we have CDs and DVDs.

And this first week, I've basically just been showing how important it is to really understand who God is and what His nature and character are like.

It says in Galatians chapter 5 or 6 that faith works by love.

If you do not fully understand the goodness and the love of God, then it's going to hinder your faith from working and receiving.

And one of the points that I've been making the last couple of days is that some of the misconceptions from God come from Scripture.

And don't misunderstand what I'm saying. I am certainly not against Scripture. I believe in every single word of Scripture, but it's been twisted and people have gotten the wrong impression.

I've given examples of myself about things that I've done and people misunderstand why I've done it.

Let me use this comparison. It's similar to when your children are really young.

You know, the Scripture says in multiple different places that if you love your child, you'll chase in them bit times.

That means early that a child left to himself will bring his mother to shame and on and on the rod and the reproof, give wisdom, train up a child and the way he should go and when he's old, he won't depart from it.

And so there's a number of Scriptures that talk about us actually using corporal punishment to correct our children.

Now, I've had some people that get really upset and say, I would never hit my child and spank them or do anything.
