Welcome to our Wednesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today I'm going to be teaching on the true nature of God.

We started this series last Monday so this is only my third day of teaching on this and yet I tell you I have said some radical, radical things.

This is one of the most misunderstood aspects of our relationship with God.

Religion has totally misinterpreted some of the actions of God.

And this is what I've been teaching on the first two days of this week or basically just introduction talking about how important it is to understand what God is really like.

And of course the way that we get that understanding is through the word of God.

And there's a reason that the old covenant is called the old covenant because it has been replaced by a new covenant.

You know let me just read a passage to you over here in Hebrews chapter 8.

I'm not sure I could quote all of this so I'll turn over and read this.

But it says in verse 7, Hebrews 8.7, for if that first covenant had been faultless then no place should have been sought for the second.

So finding fault with them, he says, behold the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to leave them out of the land of Egypt because they continued not in my covenant and I regarded them not saith the Lord.

This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days saith the Lord.

I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts and I will be to them a God and they shall be to me a people.

And they shall not teach every man his neighbors and every man his brothers saying, know the Lord for all shall know me from the least to the greatest.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Man, that is radical right there.

The old covenant, God wasn't merciful.

Now there was mercy in the old covenant but it was only through the sacrifices if you sinned and broke the law then if you offered the appropriate sacrifices and went through all of the rituals you could experience the mercy and the grace of God.
