Welcome to our Tuesday's broadcast of the gospel truth. Today I'm into my fourth week of teaching through a series

that I've entitled The True Nature of God. What this is doing is revealing the real heart

and nature of God. And you know there's conflicting things in the Word of God. You will see Jesus

extending mercy towards a woman taken in the very act of adultery.

He will wind up touching people that according to the law were unclean.

But in the old covenant, you saw punishment and wrath and rejection.

And it sometimes gives people a schizophrenic impression of God, and they just don't really

understand. And they're afraid to get close to

him because man he might be the one that's going to smite you with some sickness like Job to teach

you something. Now that's a total misinterpretation of the book of Job but anyway I'm not going to go there

and explain all of that but there's people that through these things, they get these wrong impressions of God, and

you cannot have a good relationship with a person if you don't understand what they're like.

You know, I've got some friends that because of our relationship and because we know each

other, if you were to come and tell me that, man, behind your

back, they've been doing this and this and this, I would say, you're a liar because I know them

and they wouldn't do that. Or if it's somebody who I don't know, then you could come and impugn a person's

character and it would make me resistant to them. It would make me on guard when

I'm talking to him. I couldn't let down my guard. I couldn't relax around them. And see,
