in the past, and I've called it other things like carbohydrate timing or macronutrient

timing. The broad idea of triathlon diet periodization is similar to the idea of periodization

with our training. We don't just train at one intensity all the time. Sometimes we train very intensely. Sometimes we train

at a very low intensity for a long period of time. Or sometimes we have recovery runs and recovery

workouts that are completely low intensity and very short. We give our body the workout that it needs

to stimulate the correct response that we want. Pared with that, we should also

be giving our body the nutrition that it needs to make sure that those workouts are giving our

body the stimulus that it needs at the time. The idea of triathlon diet periodization is really just pairing the right diet
