Summary

After nearly two years of pretrial hearings and preparations, Karen Read’s second-degree murder trial is now underway. She is accused of hitting her boyfriend, Boston Police officer John O’Keefe with her SUV in 2022 and leaving him to die in a bitter snowstorm. She contends that John’s death was caused by a brutal beating by his own law enforcement friends, and that she is the victim of an elaborate cover-up.
