Summary

June 28, 1991. An elderly couple named Gord and Jackie McAllister drive their motor home into an isolated rest stop near Blind River, Ontario, in order to spend the night. They are awakened by an armed man, who robs them before shooting Jackie to death and wounding Gord. When a motorist named Brian Major pulls into the rest stop, the suspect fatally shoots him as well before fleeing the scene. Years later, a former Blind River resident is tied to two unsolved murders from 1970 and becomes a potential suspect in the rest stop killings. 1:20.6	For the moment, the schedules of myself and my editor Gill probably wouldn't allow us enough time to produce a full length episode every week, but we think we found a happy medium.

1:34.0	There are some interesting cold cases that I've been wanting to cover on this podcast, but they just
1:39.0	don't have enough material to fill a regular 30 to 40 minute episode.
1:43.0	However, they do have enough material for a 10 to 15 minute minisode.
1:49.0	So from this point on, the Trail Went Cold is officially going to become a weekly podcast
1:54.4	which will be alternating between our regular full-length episodes about the more
1:58.6	extensive cases and 10 to 15 minute minisodes about cases which don't have as many details.
