18-year-old Mona Blades leaves to hitchhike hundreds of kilometers in order to attend her

nephew's birthday party, but she never arrives.

After Mona's reported missing, witnesses would recall seeing her inside an orange dot-synstation

wagon with an unidentified man.

Over the years, investigators examined a number of different suspects, including a former

traffic officer, a man who committed suicide only weeks after Mona went missing, and a

biker gang, but no trace of Mona is ever found.

After that, the trail went cold.

I'm your host Robin Warder, and today, for the first time ever, our podcast is going

to be traveling down under to New Zealand to chronicle one of the most famous unsolved

cold cases in the history of that country.

The 1975 disappearance of Mona Blades.
