35-year-old Saul Solomon is 39-year-old wife Elaine and their two children, 15-year-old

Michelle, and 9-year-old Mitchell, fanished with that explanation from their home.

Evidence suggests that foul play occurred.

The pieces of identification belonging to the family are soon found scattered alongside

a freeway.

The investigation eventually leads to Harvey Raider, a business acquaintance of Saul who allegedly

killed the entire family and buried their bodies in the desert.

Raider is charged with the murders, but after two mistrials, he is acquitted at his third

trial in 1992, and the Solomon family is never found.

After that, the trail went cold.

I'm your host Robin Warder, and today we will be covering a missing persons case involving

an entire family, the 1982 disappearance of Saul, Elaine, Michelle, and Mitchell Solomon.

This case was recently suggested to me by a listener named Aaron, as an extensive article

about the story was published in Los Angeles magazine at the beginning of July.

The article was written by author and journalist Stacey Perman, who happened to be a neighbor

of the family when they vanished, and childhood friends with Michelle.
