During a date with a friend at his rural home, 41-year-old Eric Tommy

also hears strange noises outside and discovers an unidentified shoe print. After his friend leaves,

Eric has not heard from for five days. His decomposing body is eventually discovered in his bed,

and it turns out he has been shot three times in the head.

The investigation would uncover a number of intriguing suspects, including the local sheriff,

a close friend and business partner, and the person who discovered Eric's body, but the murder is never solved.

I'm your host Robin Warder and today we are going to be examining a case which can best be described as a who-done-it, the 2001 murder of Eric Tamiasu.

This case was featured on one of the very last episodes of Unsolved Mysteries and remains one of my favorite segments from the later seasons of the show.

It almost resembles the plot of a murder mystery story because there are multiple suspects who each seemingly

had their own motive to kill the victim. Two of them are acquaintances of Eric, a close friend

who supposedly had a dispute with him over money, and the person who discovered Eric's body and acted

like they were the best of friends, though some people would question that claim.

And then there's the sheriff investigating the case, who raised some eyebrows by making the surprising decision to destroy a crucial piece of evidence.
