Summary

Since “The Trail Went Cold” originally launched in February 2016, we have featured over 500 cold cases on the podcast, a number of which have wound up being solved or  experienced major developments. As a result, we have now released a total of seven special “update” episodes. In this particular episode, we’ll share a number of major updates which occurred in 2025, such as a resolution in the 1991 Austin Yogurt Shop Murders, Tommy Zeigler’s most recent attempts to overturn his conviction for the 1975 Winter Garden Furniture Store Murders, the potential discovery of three missing victims from the 1958 Martin Family Disappearance, and the identification of a 1971 murder victim formerly known as “Little Miss Panasoffkee”. These are just some of the cases we’ll be discussing on our most recent “update” episode of “The Trail Went Cold”. The Hello everyone and welcome to our final Trail Went Cold episode of 2025. I'm your host Robin Warder,

0:42.8

and yes, it's that time again, as our podcast is now dropping our seventh special update episode.

0:49.8

Two months from now, the Trail Went Cold will reach the magic milestone of hitting our 10th anniversary

0:54.8

as a podcast, and of course, when I first started this show back in 2016, I never dreamed that

1:01.0

so many of our featured cases would get solved that we wind up having enough material for seven

1:06.2

update episodes. There were some pretty major updates this year, which we're going to discuss momentarily,

1:12.4

and we also experienced a podcast first back in November when I released episode number 456 about

1:18.8

the 1984 murder of 16-year-old Teresa Fusco. Long story short, a suspect named Richard Belodo

1:26.1

wound up being arrested for the crime while I was in the

1:28.4

midst of working on the episode, but I still decided to complete it and release it anyway with the updated information.

1:35.8

Of course, this resolution came about when genetic genealogy linked DNA evidence to a suspect who had never been on the radar before,

1:43.6

and this whole situation pretty

1:45.1

much demonstrated that even cold cases that are decades old can still be solved, which is why I have

1:51.5

no doubt that we'll be releasing many more special update episodes in the future.

1:56.6

Anyway, before we get started, I should mention that this episode will focus exclusively on cases

2:02.0

which have had updates in 2025. So if you'd like to hear about cases which have been resolved

2:07.8

or had major developments before this year, I'd recommend going back and listening to our

2:12.5

previous updates on episodes number 155, 257, 310, 359, 369, and 412.

2:22.0

But 2025 was a pretty huge year when it came to updates,

2:26.1

so we're going to have a lot to talk about here.

2:29.2

So without any further ado, let us now begin the Trail Went Cold seventh special update episode. Cue the vintage old school
