training flight to an Asesna 182 aircraft, 20-year-old Frederick Melentich vanishes without

explanation over the vast straight. During a radio transmission, Melentich describes seeing

an unidentified flying object and his final words are, it's hovering and it's not an aircraft.

When independent eyewitnesses corroborate seeing strange things in the sky in the area that night,

speculation mounts that the Lentich's disappearance might have been the result of an alien encounter.

Hello everyone and welcome to a special Halloween episode of the trail went cold.

I'm your host Robin Warder and today we will be going back down under to Australia to cover one

of the most infamous unsolved mysteries of all time, the 1978 disappearance of Frederick the Lentich.

Throughout the month of October, our podcast has been covering creepy stories which have a

bit of a Halloween slant to them and for our final episode this month, I thought it only

appropriate that we cover our very first mystery about potential UFO involvement.

Now while I personally find UFO stories fascinating, I know that not everyone likes them,

which is why I've never featured one on the podcast before. But this story is different because

regardless of what your stance is on UFOs, a man still went missing under mysterious circumstances
