Jefferson County, Montana.

While attending a picnic with her family in Helen and National Forest,

four-year-old Nylene K Marshall goes off to play with some other children until she vanishes without a trace.

An extensive search of the forest fails to find her, but other kids report having seen an unidentified man in a jogging suit speaking to Nyleen shortly before she went missing.

Over two years later, the authorities receive a series of anonymous letters and phone calls

from a man who claims to be raising an Eileen, but he is never identified, and

Nylene cannot be found.

I'm your host Robin Warder and today we're going to be covering a very disturbing

missing children's case, the 1983 disappearance of four-year-old Nylene K Marshall. This case was once featured on an episode of Unsaw Mysteries and ever

since the inception of this podcast I've received numerous requests to cover it. This is the story of a girl who went on a picnic with her family in

Hell in a national forest, but even though the event was attended by several people,

Nylene somehow went missing. At first, it was suspected that Nylene may have wandered off into the forest,

but no trace of her could be found, and multiple children reported seeing Nylene in the company

of a mysterious man in a jogging suit who may have abducted her.

This theory would gain a lot more traction a few years later when the authorities were contacted

on multiple occasions by a man who claimed to be raising Nylene and traveling around the world with her.

But while it's possible this could have been nothing more than a cruel hoax,

he apparently shared details about Nylene's disappearance, which were not public knowledge at the time.

Over the years, investigators have explored a number of different leads with the hopes that Nylene may have been raised under a false identity and could still be alive somewhere,

but they have always come up empty.
