Bosure Parish, Louisiana.

The decomposed body of a young woman is discovered in the woods next to remote logging road.

The victim has been stabbed nine times, but since she cannot be identified,

she becomes known as Bosure Doe.

34 years later, Bosure Doe was finally identified as 17-year-old Carol and Cole,

a Michigan resident who had run away from Texas a few months before she was killed.

Suspicion turns towards John Chasen, the man who reported the discovery of Carol

Land's body to the police, and would go to prison for killing another person several years later,

but there is no conclusive evidence to implicate him, and Carol Land's murder is never solved.

After that, the trail went cold.

I'm your host Robin Warder, and this week we're going to be exploring another case involving

a murder victim who remained a Jane Doe for decades, the 1981 murder of Carol and Cole.

If that name sounds familiar, you might recall me briefly mentioning Carol and Cole on the

podcast episode I released last month about the murder of Carolyn Eaton, who was a Jane Doe known

as Valentine Sally until she was identified 39 years after she was found.

At one point during the investigation, a woman from Michigan became convinced that

Valentine Sally might be her long-lost sister, Carol and Cole.

While DNA testing ruled out this possibility, it wasn't long before Carol and was positively

identified as a murder victim named Bozier Doe, who had been found in Bozier Parish, Louisiana
