June 9, 1995. Alma, Arkansas. While attending a little league baseball game with her mother,

six-year-old Morgan Nick goes off into a nearby field to play with some other kids before

she vanishes without a trace. Morgan's friends claim that an unidentified man spoke to her

and since a red pickup truck was seen leaving the scene, it is suspected that this man

might have abducted her. Over two decades later, a deceased sex offender named Billy Jack

Leanks is named as a person of interest, but he has not been conclusively connected to

the case and Morgan remains a missing person. After that, the trail went cold.

Hello everyone and welcome to our latest episode of the trail went cold. I'm your host

Robin Warner and this week we're going to be exploring a prominent missing children's

case, the 1995 disappearance of six-year-old Morgan Nick. That voice you just heard narrating

Anyway, the disappearance of Morgan Nick is the case that Shardonnay requested I cover

when she originally entered this contest because she was growing up in the same region of

Arkansas when Morgan's abduction took place, so the story has always had close to home

for her. The case is every parent's worst nightmare as Morgan's mother took her to

a little league baseball game one night and even though she only let her daughter out

of her sights for a brief window of time in order to allow her to play with some other

kids, it seems like an opportunistic predator took advantage of the situation and kidnapped
