May 3rd, 2002, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Seven-year-old Alexis Patterson is locked to school by

her stepfather, who claims that he last sees her crossing the street and heading in the

direction of the school playground. Even though numerous students report seeing Alexis

crying on the playground that day, she never tens any of her classes and is eventually reported

missing. Over the years, investigators explore a number of potential leads and even direct

some suspicion towards Alexis's family. But there are no conclusive answers about what

happened to her and after that, the trail went cold.

Hello everyone and welcome to our latest episode of the Trail Went Cold. I'm your host

Robin Warder and today we're going to be profiling a missing children's case about a

seven-year-old black girl, the 2002 disappearance of Alexis Patterson. That voice you just heard

Anyway I've received quite a few requests to cover the Alexis Patterson case on the podcast

and since we passed the 20th anniversary of her disappearance earlier this month and her

story has been brought back into the spotlight, I thought now would be an ideal time to do

an episode. Two decades ago Alexis was walked to school by her stepfather before they went

their separate ways but she never attended any of her classes and vanished without a trace.
