Summary

March 14, 1998. Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. 39-year old Leonard Dirickson prepares breakfast for his son, Jared, before a man driving a pick-up truck shows up at their ranch. After Leonard goes outside and speaks to the driver, he tells Jared that the man is interested in looking at one of his stud horses and he will accompany him to the locations where they are being kept. After Leonard climbs into the pick-up truck and leaves, he does not return and is eventually reported missing. Even though there are a couple of reported sightings to suggest that Leonard might still be alive, he cannot be found and the driver of the pick-up truck is never identified. Could Leonard Dirickson have staged his own disappearance or did he become the victim of foul play? And if he was murdered, what could the motive have been? On this week’s episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore a truly perplexing missing persons case and we’ll also take some time to briefly examine the unsolved disappearance of 56-year old Lee Young, who vanished from Scottsdale, Arizona in May 1990. If you have any information on the disappearance of Leonard Dirickson, please contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-522-8017. If you have any information on the disappearance of Lee Young, please contact the Scottsdale Police Department at (480) 312-5155.
