Summary

August 12, 1989. Halifax, Nova Scotia. After her shift ends 40 minutes earlier than scheduled, 19-year old Kimberly McAndrew clocks out and leaves her workplace before she vanishes without a trace. Over the years, investigators check out a number of different leads and even consult with a so-called “psychic detective”, but fail to find any conclusive answers about what happened to Kim. Even though a sex offender named Andrew Paul Johnson is looked at as a potential suspect in Kim’s disappearance and a couple of other unsolved murders from the Halifax area, there is no conclusive evidence to implicate him. On this week’s episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we travel back to our podcast’s home country of Canada to explore one of the most prominent unsolved missing persons cases from the province of Nova Scotia. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Halifax Regional Police at (902) 490-5333 or Canadian Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
