Summary

Back in January, we released a minisode about the disappearance of 47-year old Pamela Butler, who vanished from her Washington, D.C. home in February 2009. Even though Pam’s house was covered by security cameras, none of the surveillance footage showed her leaving, but her boyfriend, Jose Rodriguez-Cruz, was seen entering and exiting the home on multiple occasions in the days following her disappearance. On April 8, 2017, Jose was finally arrested and charged with Pam’s murder. Incredibly, it has now been revealed that Jose is also the prime suspect in the unsolved 1989 disappearance of his estranged wife! For the first time, “The Trail Went Cold” is presenting a bonus update minisode about one of the cases featured on our podcast, as we reveal what finally led to Jose Rodriguez-Cruz being charged with Pamela Butler’s murder and some shocking secrets which have emerged about his past. 0:53.0	Back on January 11th, we released a mini soda about the unsolved disappearance of Pamela Butler,

1:05.2	who mysteriously vanished from her home in Washington, D.C.

1:11.5	I'd recommend going back and checking it out, but here's a brief synopsis of the case.
1:16.2	On Valentine's Day in 2009, Pam was supposed to take her mother out to dinner but never showed up.
1:23.9	Her family eventually checked at her home and discovered she wasn't there.
1:28.2	What's particularly strange is that Pam's house was covered by 24-hour security cameras, but while the surveillance footage showed
1:35.3	her entering the house on February 12th, none of it showed her leaving. However, there was a blind
1:41.4	spot, as a couple of windows in the dining room were not covered by the cameras, and one of those windows was unlocked.
1:48.0	And strangely, the sheets from her bed were also missing.
1:52.0	The main person of interest was Pam's 44-year-old boyfriend
1:55.6	Jose Rodriguez Cruz, who claimed that Pam broke up with him right before she went missing.
2:01.0	The surveillance footage showed Jose entering and exiting Pam's home on multiple
2:05.8	occasions in the days following her disappearance while carrying bags, but he claimed that he never
2:11.6	saw Pam at all during this time period.
2:14.0	Pam's family always believed that Jose knew more than he was telling,
2:18.0	but he maintained his innocence and there was no hard evidence that a crime had been committed.
