Hello everyone and welcome to a very special episode of The Trail Went Cold.

I'm your host Robin Mortar and today we are going to be conducting our very first interview

on our podcast.

Recently we were contacted by representatives of a new True Crime podcast called Suspect Convictions

which debuted in early January.

Much like cereal, Suspect Convictions is a podcast told in multiple chapters and it examines

the brutal 1990 murder of a nine-year-old girl named Jennifer Lewis and the subsequent

conviction of a suspect named Stanley Liggins.

The case is fraught with controversy as Liggins has gone on trial for the crime twice and

had his convictions overturned twice.

His third trial is set to take place in a few months so in addition to providing this

case's backstory, Suspect Convictions will be featuring its conclusion as it unfolds

in real time.

The subject of today's interview will be Scott Reader, a veteran journalist who has been

involved in this case since day one and thought this story deserved his own podcast.
