And I'm Liz Hull. Today on the podcast, we've got more of the evidence from the second man on trial.

That's John McGowan for Zachary. He said his trust in Jamie Varley had been misplaced,

and he confirmed they were no longer in a relationship, despite the fact that last week,

Jamie Varley said they were. He said he thought the videos of Jamie Varley spinning Preston in a

teacup in the park was shocking. He also said it was stupid and pathetic that he'd left Preston alone in a bath for 14 minutes, and Jamie Varley should be ashamed.

He said he didn't think videos of Jamie Varley naked in the bath with Preston were appropriate,

but he said there was nothing untoward

about other pictures of Preston playing naked on his playmat.

And he said traces of his semen that were found on the inside of Preston's cot were not

the result of a sexual assault.

of a long update really on Tuesday, we brought you the start of John McGowan for Zachalys'

evidence. And that's really his version of what he says happened to Preston in the four months that he was living

with him and his partner, Jamie Varley. And of course, that takes us up to the day that Preston

died. So July the 27th, 23, and the weeks, months and years really afterwards as well. So he went

back to the beginning. He explained in a bit more detail

how he and Jamie Varley met, how they went through what he called this intrusive adoption process

to secure Preston, and how they both loved him and how he lit up their world. Now, he said he never saw Jamie Varley be abusive
