Thank you. Welcome to the second episode of the Social Club podcast. I am Josh Kovinsky, joined today by my co-host, Joe Ragazzo. Hey,, how are you doing? I'm doing great, Josh. How are you? I'm good, man. Pretty soon, we're also going to be joined by the incomparable Nicole LaFond. But I think we just wanted to start off by introducing ourselves a little bit more to our audience. So, Joe, I mean, tell me, how long have you been at TPM and why do we pay you? What do you do? Yeah, well, I get, you know, that's a question for

for Josh Marshall, I guess. But I started in January of 2013, and I was Josh's assistant,

actually, like Dwight Trude in the office like assistant to the

regional I was assistant to the publisher not assistant publisher and so I came over prior to that

I was working as a financial journalist actually and I realized I didn't really want to be an actual

reporter but I love journalism so I saw the opportunity to come to TPM and learn more about the business. And I've been at TPM ever since and kind of,

and now I'm the publisher. I don't have an assistant though. But I'm now the publisher. And so

a lot of times when I tell people I'm the publisher or even when they see my title as a publisher, they don't totally know what that means, which is totally fair because it's an industry-specific title that also is used differently at different organizations and different companies in, you know, in different ways.

So the best way to think about what I do is that anything that is not strictly journalism,

anything that's not reporting, that is not, you know, writing, that is under my purview,

whether so if you were to think about my job in a more sort of corporate

terms, it's kind of like being the CEO, the C-O-O, and the CFO kind of all wrapped into one.
