When I finally did get inside my apartment, I was pleasantly surprised.

The front room had a couch and two chairs. All beige, unfortunately.

There was a breakfast bar that separated the front room from the dining room kitchen combo.

Just off the kitchen was the bathroom, and you

actually had to go through the bathroom to get to my bedroom, which was cool, kind of like a secret

layer. Although, secret layers shouldn't be painted beige. There was a knock at my door, and I

set my backpack down on the couch, glanced out the front window at the street below,

then walked over and opened the door. Hello? Hey, Astrid said, and shoved past me into my new

apartment. Come in, I said and closed the door. Can I get you something to drink? I don't know if I

have anything since I just walked in, but I'll look. Sparkling

or still? What are you babbling about? Astrid asked, looking my apartment over.

If I have water in the fridge, I said and walked into the kitchen. Do you want sparkling or

still? I don't want anything. Oh, then why'd you ask for a drink? I didn't ask for a drink.
