It was a cold, rainy night in Toronto when the Blue Jays played their 1990 home opener.

But the weather didn't matter to the team or the fans because they were inside the city's new Skydome Stadium,

and its retractable roof was shut tight.

It was the Jay's first full season in the concrete monolith, which today is known as the Rogers

Center.

And for many, it marked the beginning of a new era for Toronto's Major League Baseball team.

The Blue Jays had certainly come a long way from their first snowy

game in a converted outdoor football field 13 years earlier. But no one could have predicted
