Hey Leo here for actualized.org and in this episode I'm going to be talking about the topic of mindfuckery The truth must of necessity be stranger than fiction, for we have made fiction to suit ourselves.

Is that life is a giant mind fuck and that there are so many mind fucks to be had in life.

And a lot of people what they do is they spend their lives running away from the mind fucks

So this is something I want to really highlight, underscore, emphasize for you on this journey that you should be kind of like looking out for them, expecting them to come.

Now what is a mind fuck? A mind fuck is a surprise.

A shocking reversal, like the plot twist in a movie or a giant epiphany, this realization that you had something totally wrong, or when you see something

It's amazing to me that this is just a facet of life and a facet of reality, a facet of what it means to be human, is to encounter these mindfucks.

And we have been encountering them as humanity for a long time all throughout history.

If you study the history of philosophy, the history of science, the history of religion, the history of just

cultures and societies and governments, you see humans coping and

struggling to understand what reality is, whether it's hoping and new world, the Americas, and dealing with all the ramifications of that and just how big of a shift

that is in worldview for people when you discover there's this whole new half of the globe

that we didn't even know existed.

Or whether it's the Einsteinian Revolution and what that means for space time and for quantum mechanics, right? So just all these mindfucks, you find it in science and philosophy and throughout human culture.
