Today on Forbes, the top 10 richest people in the world, September 2025.

In a month when U.S. stock market indices once again hit new highs,

the combined net worth of the top 10 richest people on the planet increased by just 1%, or 21 billion

dollars, to $2.13 trillion. Driving the modest gain was the fact that August was a mixed month

for the world's wealthiest, with six becoming richer and four poorer, as several soaring tech stocks retreated.

Our top ten richest people on Earth list is as of September 1st, 2025, at 12 a.m. Eastern Time.

As a reminder, stock prices fluctuate routinely, so the net worths on our list may change on a daily basis. Forbes tracks the daily

changes on our real-time list of billionaires. Forbes has been keeping track of the world's

billionaires since 1987. In April 2025, we found 3,028 of them for our annual list.

The biggest gainers over the last month were Alphabet's Larry Page and Sergey Brin,

whose fortunes popped by $20.3 billion and $15.1 billion, respectively.

Shares of the search giant jumped by nearly 9% to a record high.

And this was before a federal judge ruled Tuesday, September 2nd,

that Google will not have to sell its Chrome browser to remedy its search market monopoly.

Page held steady as the number five richest person in the world, with a net worth of $178.3 billion,

while Bryn moved up one rung to number six, with a net worth of $165.9 billion.

The Google co-founder took the spot of NVIDIA's Jensen Huang, who slipped to number nine as his

fortune fell by $3.5 billion, landing his net worth at $150.4 billion.

Shares of Nvidia dropped by more than 3% on the last day of August, likely due to China

concerns amid an announcement from Alibaba that it was developing its own chip.

August's biggest loser was July's biggest winner.
