I'm Leah Feiger, the senior politics editor at Wired.

I just signed in the law of the national security package that was passed by the House

representatives this weekend and by the Senate yesterday.

This week, President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid bill into law.

It's going to make America safer.

It's going to make the world safer.

And it continues America's leadership in the world, and everyone knows.

The package contained billions of dollars in aid for Ukraine and Israel

and humanitarian support in Gaza.

But it also included a provision related to the immensely popular Chinese-owned social media

platform TikTok. The platform will now have to come under American ownership within a year,

or face being banned in the U.S. entirely.

Today on the show, we're going to talk about what happens to TikTok and how this new law

affects the politicians and influencers who use the app.
