In today’s First15, we’re going to take time to come before the throne of grace in a meaningful way. In today's first 15, we're going to take time to come before the throne of grace in a meaningful way.

0:10.6

May the reality of Jesus' mercy and power establish a greater foundation of grace for us to live on today.

0:18.3

And may we approach him with humility and confidence, knowing that he only

0:22.7

looks at us with eyes of love. Welcome to the first 15 podcast. Our scripture for today comes from Hebrews 4 verse 16.

1:01.0

Scripture says,

1:02.0

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace,

1:07.0

that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

1:14.6

What do you picture in your mind's eye when I talk about God sitting on his throne?

1:20.6

1:51.0

and the train of his robe filled the temple.

1:54.0

And Revelation 20 verse 11 says,

1:57.0

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence, earth and sky

2:03.5

fled away and no place was found for them. Seemingly in contrast to the previous ideas, Hebrews 416 says,

2:14.1

let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive

2:20.2

mercy and find grace to help in time of need. After reading Hebrews 416, I get a completely

2:28.2

different picture of God on his throne. Hebrews paints for us a picture of a throne of grace rather than a distant ruler.

2:37.3

It speaks of a throne from which comes mercy and help for those in need. And it commands us to

2:43.9

come before the throne of the king of kings, creator and ruler of all with confidence. Hebrews 416 makes me love how huge God is on his throne
