Turn to Mark chapter 3 and we're going to begin in Mark 3 and we'll end up in Acts chapter 1.

So if you want to put a marker at Acts chapter 1, we'll get there in just a little while.

I also want to tell you thank you for

praying for me and my family. Those of you who remembered, a couple of weeks ago I

asked you just to pray for us when you bless your food and many many people

told me that they've been praying for us and I really really appreciate it.

We're in a series entitled Discovering the Divine and what we're doing is looking at actual

encounters that Jesus had with people and discovering God, seeing how God is,

how he responds, how he acts, how he loves people, how he cares about people.

And we've looked at several instances but last week we

started talking about the disciples and the encounters that the disciples had

with Jesus and this week the title of the message is The Three Year Disciples.

In other words, what happened in their three year encounter with Jesus?

What was the main thing Jesus wanted them to get in those three years?

So let me introduce it this way.
