the parenting road alone. Hey guys, welcome to Part of the Mess. I hope you are doing great. I am so

glad you're back with us. You may have heard me say on an episode

in the last few weeks that I am choosing pause is my word of the year to pause, to take a moment,

to think about things, to pray about things, not to react, all that good stuff. And so this morning,

early this morning, I was getting ready to speak on a Zoom to a group out of Atlanta. And so I got up super early

to make sure I was ready for that. You can also get my kids off to school and then speak on this

Zoom. And as I was putting on my makeup, I decided to take a pause and have a moment and pray over

what I was going to speak on. And so I came and sat down in my office for just a few minutes. Well,

apparently I forgot

that I never put on eyeliner or mascara or what else. I don't even know if I put on blush. And so

I went ahead with my day and went ahead and did my speaking thing on Zoom, which they had me on some

huge screen in a room. Hello. And about five minutes ago, which is hours after I spoke,

I just realized that I have only like half of a face of makeup on. So there you go. That's how

2023 is going for me as I pause. I hope that your resolutions or whatever you're working

towards this year are going a little smoother. But that's where we are over here. Today, though,

I'm super excited because Kara Powell is with us. And she's been here before and I totally nerd

out whenever she comes on because she works with the Fuller Youth Institute. And what they do,

she'll tell you more about this in a minute. But what they do is they combine research on our next

generation, the youth, with biblical principles. And so they're looking at
