Tonight I'll be reading The Three Musketeers by Alexander De Maas. Chapter 44 to 46. In the previous chapters, Melady sends D'Artagnan

poisoned wine disguised as a gift from his friends,

but the musketeers arrive at camp just in time to stop him from drinking it. Realising

Melady's relentless pursuit of revenge, they resolved to rescue Madame Bonacieux after the siege.

Soon after, while dining at an inn without D'Artagnan, who was restricted by his duties as a

guard, the musketeers unexpectedly encounter a hooded figure, who turns out to be the Cardinal himself,

requesting that they follow him to a local inn and wait in the lounge below,

while he takes care of clandestine business in the upstairs rooms.

Now that you've caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.
