Tonight, I'll be reading The Three Musketeers by Alexander Damas, chapters 38 and 39.

In the previous chapters, after inviting D'Artagnan for the evening, Melaidey offers her love in exchange for his promise to kill the Comte. After a night together, and realizing the situation

had gone too far, D'Artagnan reveals that he was the one who posed as the Comte before,

and produces the ring she gifted him as proof.

Enraged, Melody attacks him, and during their struggle, D'Artagnan accidentally reveals her

left shoulder, exposing Fleur-de-Lise, the brand of a marked criminal. Horrified by this revelation,

D'Artagnan narrowly escapes her furious assault and flees into the street.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.
