Chapter 21.

In the previous chapter, D'Artagnan hurries to Monsieur de Treville, who, without pressing for details, secures d'Artagnan's leave and arranges for Portos, Atos and Aramis to accompany him. Together, the fores set off

for Britain. The journey proves perilous. Portos is delayed by a duel in a tavern.

Aramis is injured in an ambush and must recuperate, and Atos is captured in a separate attack.

Left to proceed alone, D'Artagnan battles his way out of France, defeating the Cardinal's agent,

the Comte de Wards, in a fierce battle. Finally, he reaches Britain and delivers the Queen's letter

to the Duke of Buckingham. Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.
