My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence. I ask you for pardon of my sins and grace to make this time of prayer

fruitful. My mother immaculate, St. Joseph, my father and Lord, my guardian angel, intercede for me.

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother,

and his mother's sister Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene.

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother,

Woman, behold your son.

Then he said to the disciple,

Behold your mother.

And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

We situate ourselves on Mount Calvary, Galgata, meaning the place of the skull, and we place ourselves at the foot of the cross in the company of Mary the mother of Jesus, the holy

women and St. John the Apostle.

Probably, if it weren't for the presence of Mary, we wouldn't have the courage to be there, to stay there.

We can learn from St. Jose Mur Maria's encouragement to do our prayer by situating ourselves within the gospel

as one of the people or one of the characters taking part in those saving events.

There we are on Calvary, witnessing the vulnerability of God.

God made man.

How important it is to have this strength, we ask our lady to intercede for us so that we may have this strength

to keep Jesus close company. Of my own resources, Lord, I don't manage. I would not manage.

But with the intercession of our mother Mary, yes, I can manage.
