Hey, this is John Gordon, with Positive University. And today my guest is Miles McPherson Miles how you doing?

Good and I love positive university that name I love that name. I appreciate it well you are very

positive and I appreciate that you know off camera I was asking you about

how you got started as a pastor.

So I'd love for you to answer that question for everyone.

Like, how'd you find your calling? You know two years into, well actually before that I

accepted Christ when I was 19. I was getting high at the time and two hippies walked up to me Charles Manson looking

dudes and basically started talking about Jesus and I was like yeah man they look like

Jesus freaks to me from the Woodstock days.

Make a long story short, I pray with them right there

in this department store.

For five years, nothing happened.

When I say nothing happened, I got sober because I was getting smoke weed all day and for about a month, two

months I can't remember it so long ago. But I had no one helped me and so five years

later I'm on the San Diego charts doing cocaine.

And I said, Lord, I can't do this anymore. I just recommended my life.

And then I started stopped cocaine in one day, April 12, 1984.

I started telling people about Jesus,

and I said, you know, I think I want to do this for a living.

And when I got cut, two years later,

I started a Bible study in my house with teenagers and we had nine nationalities in my house.

I said, this is what I'm going to do and that's how I got started.
