In last Friday, on last Friday, we turned and looked to 1 Corinthians, the 12th chapter,

and if you'd turn there again, we began talking about the things of the spirit.

In 1 Corinthians 12, verse 1, and I want to read this from Young's literal translation.

Because as we talked about last Friday, for instance, the very first verse, and the

King James says, and I like the King James, don't get me wrong, I've used it for decades,

and I like it a lot. But you want to remember it's a translation.

What does that mean?

It's translated from the original text.

It's not the original text.

It's translated because English was not the original language.

And so the scholars and the scribes, they did the best they knew to express what was in this other language in English.

And I believe the Lord helped them on the King James.

They did a good job. And there are other translations that are good. I'm not just saying the King James. But you do have to watch, as I mentioned last Friday, a lot of books that are called translations really should be called paraphrases. Because they are not a word-for-word translation.

And you'll see the less respect people have for God, whether it's movies and books or whatever it is, then the looser they are in handling his things.

But to me, it doesn't get any more important than the Word of God.

And I don't want you to tell me, I don't care how many degrees you have, I'm not interested in you telling me what you thought he meant.

I want to know as close to word for word as you can tell me what he said.

Because I have the spirit in me and he'll help me to see what he meant.

And you're not the Holy Spirit.

No matter how great you may be and how smart you may be, you only know in part.

So let me just caution you again.

And the reason I said is because especially on this 12th and 14th chapters of 1st Corinthians,
