Summary
It was late, the kind of quiet that settles in when everything around you has finally slowed down. As they walked to the car, one of them noticed someone standing in the alley nearby.
At first, it didn’t seem like anything worth thinking about. Just a figure under a streetlight, standing still, not doing much of anything. But the longer they looked, the more something about it felt off.
Then it started moving. Not the way a person normally would, and not in a way that made them feel safe sticking around to figure it out. By the time they got to the car, both of them knew something wasn’t right.
And when they looked back one last time, whatever they were seeing… wasn’t something they could explain away.
